Step 2

Please note: The following information is for a 2004 Kia Spectra, the location may
be slightly different in your car, however, once plugged in and your map sensor connection installed, you should be good to go.

Remove factory ECU.

Run Vacuum line thru firewall

The easiest way to accomplish this is to poke a small hole in the rubber boot that the engine wiring harness passes through and shove the vac line thru the hole. The rubber boot is just below and left of the brake booster. Sticking a small drill bit with a slightly larger diameter than the inside of the vac line into the end of the line you’re pushing through the boot will help greatly… as will lubricating the hole in the boot and end of the tubing).

The Vacuum line will come out inside the car just above and to the right of the throttle pedal.

Hook up the engine side of the line. Stab a very small hole into the brake booster line close to the manifold- make sure not to stab thru both sides. (I’ve included a barb fitting to make this easy… however, if you would prefer to install it differently by using a tee fitting or what not- feel free). After line is hooked up… pull thru the excess into the passenger compartment- Make sure enough slack is left on engine side so that there are no kinks.

slide and work the unit into place from the drivers side (you will have to push the throttle pedal to the floor to get it in there). Move to passenger side. Pull the unit flush up against the mounting studs and then tighten nuts while keeping unit flush up against studs. Move back to drivers side and install the bolt Attach harness connector. (you may have to clip the wire tie that’s holding the wiring in place on the passenger side between the two studs).

Route vac line around unit to passenger side and connect.

Do the opposite with the tuning cable. (pass it thru from the passenger side, connect, and then pull it tight so that the cable does not stick out and interfere with the throttle pedal).

Not sure what wideband you have at this point… so here is some general info for now Remove stock O2 sensor. Cut connector loose from stock sensor (cut about half way between connector and where the heat jacket begins so that there is plently of wire left on both the connector and old o2 sensor)

Unclip and remove cover from connector so you can clearly see where each wire is going.

Strip all your wire ends and start splicing!

Here is an example for an innovate LC-1.
